This week, we're discovering the all-new Mini Cooper in its S version, and it's fair to say that the manufacturer has gone all out, without wanting to make a bad pun.

The S version essentially takes everything from the regular version except for what's under the hood. This more frugal variant of the small British car is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It's thanks to this engine that the Mini Cooper S boasts a power output of 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. These figures are anything but modest, especially for a car of this size. So, the Cooper S gains 12 horsepower compared to the previous generation.

A more refined style

Like many other manufacturers, Mini has decided to go for a more streamlined style with lighter touches for this new generation of Cooper. Nevertheless, rest assured that the Mini style is recognizable at first glance, thanks to its classic front end with round headlights and an imposing grille. The car retains essentially the same muscularity as before. The rear end remains the most interesting with triangular-shaped lights whose lighting is reminiscent of the flag of England, the brand's country of origin. The Cooper S logo is affixed to an anthracite-colored panel, making it even more appealing.

Inside, the British manufacturer's small city car offers a classy and modern interior. There's a huge circular screen in the middle of the dashboard. This time, the entire screen is digital, undoubtedly catching the eye. The rest of the interior is very elegant.

The style of the Mini Cooper S is successful, and the few improvements it offers allow it to stand out boldly from the previous generation, as well as from the regular version.

The Mini Cooper S 2025 will be available starting at $39,990, which is $2,100 more than the 2024 model. This slight increase is entirely justified by the numerous improvements made to the car. Not to mention its very impressive performance. It's a car I'm particularly looking forward to trying out.
