Mini has finally revealed the first official photos of the all-new electric Cooper, which is expected to arrive on the market in 2024 as a 2025 model. It is pretty, charismatic, and electrifying in every sense of the word.

You simply cannot mistake its origins, even if you only look at it for a fraction of a second. Mini is a fairly conservative manufacturer when it comes to design, and as a result, the next-generation electric Cooper looks a lot like the current model. In fact, this is true for all of the brand's models, and it's a good thing because it's what sets the brand apart from others.

An early presentation

The first images of the future Mini electric Cooper began circulating on the web a week before the British automaker decided to release official photos itself. So, this new alteration of the next-generation Mini Cooper may have been discovered several months before the originally planned unveiling date. In any case, Mini has been able to turn the situation in its favor since the electric Cooper has been riding a wave of popularity in recent weeks. It is a model that brand enthusiasts are clearly eagerly anticipating.

A successful evolution

Mini is betting on an evolutionary approach, which is why its cars look so similar from one generation to the next. However, just because there is no radical transformation doesn't mean there are no new features, quite the opposite. The new Mini Cooper features a wider and more geometric grille. As for the headlights, they are still round with a strip of LEDs on the border. However, the interior design has been modified to accommodate two straight lines, which brings a touch of modern elegance. The side of the car doesn't change much. On the other hand, the rear is quite different from that of the current generation with almost triangular taillights and a particularly bulging bumper.

Interestingly, it appears that the new Mini electric Cooper will be available in several versions since the letter S can clearly be seen on its trunk. Who knows, maybe we'll even get a spicier JCW version.

Improved powertrain?

For now, there is no official information regarding the mechanical aspect of the car. However, some rumors suggest an autonomy of over 400 kilometers from a full charge, which is considerably higher than the 183 kilometers of the current Mini Cooper SE. There is also talk of several battery options, which means that the British automaker's city car will offer an even wider range.

We will provide an update on the matter as soon as more official information on the subject becomes available.
