Our passion for pushing the envelope and thinking beyond the needs of modern mobility continues today, and has produced some truly visionary creations. Below are a few compelling examples that underscore what is possible today, and what we can look forward to down the road.

THE MINI VISION
NEXT 100.

Innovative thinking has always been embedded in MINI’s DNA. Tomorrow’s MINI taps into something even deeper. Tomorrow’s MINI will bring together a unique, personalized experience with shared ownership.

Enter the MINI VISION NEXT 100. In a future where a single vehicle can be shared amongst many, this visionary concept incorporates technology that enables the car to always look and feel like your own. Parts of the exterior surfaces transform to suit your preferences and even beam a personalized greeting as you approach the vehicle. The heart and mind of the MINI VISION NEXT 100 is the Cooperizer function – a coloured translucent instrument in the centre of the car – which communicates with the driver through dynamic changes in colour.

Over time, the MINI VISION NEXT 100 will adapt to your behaviour and enhance your driving experience, suggesting new locations to discover and inspiring routes to explore. Between journeys, the vision car will drive autonomously to a service hub, where it can be cleaned and recharged, before zipping off to meet another driver. The Cooperizer’s “inspire me” function also allows you to experience someone else’s personal driving mode – from friends, celebrities, and even visionaries – taking contemporary notions of connectivity and shared experience to an entirely new level.

MINI SUPERLEGGERA™
VISION.

This exclusive interpretation of an open-top two-seater was developed by MINI in collaboration with Touring Superleggera – the tradition-steeped design and coach-building house based in Milan. The MINI Superleggera™ Vision combines classic and sporty roadster design cues with elegant handcrafted touches throughout. And while its aerodynamic profile and electric drivetrain provide distinctly modern driving dynamics, its pared-back, minimalist aesthetic articulates the emotional quality of motoring in its purest form.

MINI BEACHCOMBER CONCEPT.

The MINI Beachcomber Concept is ideal for a spontaneous and active experience. It is designed without doors, or a conventional roof, and all other body elements that could limit the intensity of the occupants’ encounter with their surrounding world. This allows the driver and up to three passengers to connect with their surroundings – whether cruising through town, enjoying rugged off-road terrain, or breezing along the beach. The vehicle’s space concept, coupled with modern all-wheel drive technology, delivers a highly emotional driving experience.

MINI AUGMENTED VISION.

Developed by MINI’s Research and Technology team, the MINI Augmented Vision eyewear prototype offers an insight into how intelligent connectivity between car and wearable technology may look in the future. Working in concert with the MINI Connected System, the eyewear projects relevant driving information such as navigation prompts and parking assistance into the driver’s direct field of vision, thereby serving to make driving safer, more convenient, and ultimately, more enjoyable.
